It's too cold for short sleeves!

I took the opportunity of the sunshine we had for about a millisecond yesterday to grab some photos of me actually wearing my denim Kelly.

The headless photos are because on every single one, either I was squinting into the sun or I had a "hurry up, I'm freezing!" face on...

Mr Sabs is already fed up of being my photographer (after just three months and about half a dozen garments), he moaned and groaned and told me he really didn't like doing it. Hmm, should I invest in one of those remote controlled timer thingys and a new camera? Or should I just make him suffer....? Votes in comments please!

I teemed the Kelly with another Sorbetto, this time with cap sleeves, using some fabric left over from my Sureau. I'm really pleased with it, it's girly and fun and fits well too. And it takes such a short time to whip up, instant gratification! I made my own bias tape this time for the neck hole and also added a bow made out of the leftovers for added interest. Cute, right?

The snow has gone now - I loved it for about a day but it made commuting to and from work really difficult for me and stopped me going out running so I'm secretly a bit glad but shhh! you didn't hear me say that, ok?

    1. Thanks! I wasn't really looking forward to making my own bias tape but it was actually quite easy. And I had so much left over I thought why not just make a bow? It wasn't preplanned at all but I'm really happy with it!

    1. Thanks Judith! The fit of this one is much better than my first one - even though it's looser (which surprised me!)

  4. Gorgeous skirt I love that pattern they always seem to turn out so nice on everyone. So funny about the photos. I get my partner to do it but he would always take it on an angle or something so I have to set my camera on timer and do it myself lol.

    1. You should def try it if you haven't already, it's so easy as well as nice to wear. Yep, I know what you mean - my hubby is a lot taller than me and most of his photos look like they've been shot from the sky!

  5. Very cute! I want to get a remote for my camera! My friend has one and it was so much fun to play with. I need to practice using the selftimer and get some better photos :)

    1. I'm worried that I'm going to end up spending a small fortune and then for some reason or other my blogging will suddenly stop (yeah, don't ask me why I think this, I'm not planning to stop, it's one of those stupid, irrational niggles) and I'll have wasted loads of money. But it would make things loads easier than having to wait for my hubby to take photos all the time!

    1. Aaah, thanks, Amanda, that's so sweet - altho I'm not sure you'd say the same if you saw my "normal" after work (and sometimes all day at the weekend) attire - pyjamas!

  7. Thanks Valerie. I think I might have to... but was hoping to save the money and use slave labour for a little bit longer...

  8. Sometimes it's tough to get my husband to take pictures of me. I set my iPhone on a tripod, and then use another camera app to have it take a picture every 3 seconds. It works pretty well!

Nice work on the sewing! The skirt is especially cute on you.

    1. Ooh, that's a brilliant idea - saves on money too! Do you mind me asking which app it is? I'd really like to try it out. Thanks!

    2. I use Camera+ and set it to burst mode. You still need a tripod, or you can try propping it up on random shit, but really tripod is the way to go.

However, I have no advice for how to not look like a dork in front of your neighbors when you pose in the alley taking pictures of yourself.

    3. The things we do for the sake of blogging, eh? Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out and dork myself up!

    1. Ha ha, I intend to! Actually I got an app that Julianne recommended (thanks Julianne!) so it makes it easier but I think I will still bug him every now and then if I want specific photos!
